Aug. 7 – Nurturing Your Child’s Mind – Parenting expert Jan Faull, author of Amazing Minds: The Science of Nurturing Your Child’s Developing Mind with Games, Activities and More, will share her expertise on tools and techniques to enhance your child’s natural development through the use of entertaining games and exercises and discuss the chronology of babies capabilities and natural learning abilities.
Aug. 14 – Kids, Money & Allowances – Should you pay your child an allowance? If so, how much? Should the payment be linked to chores? Will an allowance help your child better understand finances? These and many more questions will be addressed in this best of Parent Talk show featuring David McCurrach, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Kids’ Money, an internationally acclaimed organization dedicated to championing children’s financial education and author of Allowance Magic: Turn Your Kids Into Money Wizards.
Aug. 21 – Sibling Rivalry – As long as families have existed, so, too has sibling rivalry. For this show we’ll talk with child psychologist Robert Myers, PhD, about the causes of this age-old problem. We’ll look at common mistakes parents make in managing sibling rivalry and offer strategies and suggestions on how parents can help kids get along better, including discussion on when to intervene and how to resolve conflict.
Aug. 28 – How to Talk To Your Kids About Sex – Although it may be one of the most important talks you’ll ever have with your child, many parents avoid or delay it, feeling embarrassed and hesitant to discuss the subject. This show will offer advice and suggestions for how and when to have that “big talk,” as well as how much information to share and at what age. The show will offer practical, useful tips on talking to kids about sex in a positive, pragmatic way. |
